Overview
The Pre-Physical Therapy Pathway at Carroll College is designed to prepare students for application to graduate programs in physical therapy. While students often choose majors in STEM fields, more important is a student's success in the prerequisite coursework. Internships, shadowing, and other involvement with professionals is highly encouraged as many physical therapy programs require volunteer or paid experience. Notes
- Please note that completion of the Pre-Physical Therapy Pathway does not guarantee that all graduate/professional admission prerequisites have been met, nor does it assure admission into a physical therapy degree program. Carroll students pursuing this pathway need to work closely with the appropriate pre-professional advisor, as well as the admission offices of all prospective graduate/professional programs.
- Certification in Advanced First Aid and CPR is required by most physical therapy programs. Communication and English composition prerequisites are included in Carroll Core requirements. A small number of schools allow courses in Comparative Anatomy and Vertebrate Physiology to substitute for Human Anatomy and Physiology.
