This course introduces the principles, methodologies, and tools used in ethical hacking and penetration testing to identify and evaluate cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Students examine offensive security techniques including reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, web application testing, and vulnerability assessment within authorized and controlled environments. Through supervised laboratory exercises, students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard security tools while developing an understanding of legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities in cybersecurity practice. The course also provides foundational preparation for industry certifications related to ethical hacking and penetration testing, including CEH and CompTIA PenTest+.
