Designed for Elementary (K-8) majors, ED 201 develops the science content knowledge essential for teaching in elementary settings. Emphasis is on Life Science, Physical Science, Engineering Design, and science-technology-society (STS). Earth Science topics are minimized (covered in a separate Earth Science course). Instruction and assessment are aligned to ARM 10.58.532 (Elementary K-8) and Montana/NGSS K-8 science content standards; the Praxis Elementary Multiple Subjects Science subtest (5005), required for licensure, functions as an external check of these standards. The cost of this test is covered by the course fee.
