BA-318: Foundations of Financial Planning

Foundations of Financial Planning is a course designed to give students a first-hand look at the various components that make up an individual's personal financial situation from the perspective of a financial planner. Students will learn aspects of behavioral finance, personal financial statements with benchmark financial ratios, lending and debt restructuring, working with special circumstances, determining funding needs for various financial goals, the importance of meeting the ethical standards and duties of a fiduciary, and CFP Board Codes of Conduct and Standards of Care. This course is required in all Carroll College CFP Board Registered Programs.

Prerequisites

Take BA-203 BA-204 EC-201 EC-202. For the Financial Planning Certificate Program, contact the Registrar's Office for assistance if you fail passing the prerequisites or ask the instructor for a requisite waiver.

Minimum Sophomore standing.
