This course investigates the ecological and anthrozoological aspects of national parks and zoos. Students will gain deeper insight into the history and development of national parks and zoos across the globe. Additionally, students will explore human impacts on animals and environments within national parks and zoos, and reflect on ways to improve welfare, conservation, and visitor experiences. Field trips are incorporated into the curriculum to provide in-depth, experiential learning opportunities related to course material.
